FAQs
We strongly recommend scheduling an appointment for all piercing and jewelry services. Walk-ins are welcome as our schedule allows, but appointments receive priority.
Piercing service fees and jewelry are priced separately. Prices shown during online booking are for the piercing service only. Jewelry is selected separately during your appointment.
Absolutely.
If you're considering a new piercing, have questions about your anatomy, need help selecting jewelry, or simply aren't sure which piercing is right for you, we're happy to schedule a consultation.
Consultations give you the opportunity to discuss placement, jewelry options, anatomy, healing expectations, and any questions you may have before committing to a piercing.
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Acceptable IDs include a driver's license, state ID, passport, military ID, resident alien card, or government-issued photo permit. Military personnel should bring civilian photo identification whenever possible.
Yes. We are happy to provide piercing services for minors who meet our age and identification requirements. Anatomy is always our first priority, and we also consider lifestyle factors such as sports, swimming, and other activities that may affect healing. Our minimum age for earlobe piercings is 5 years old. The child must genuinely want the piercing and understand what to expect during the procedure. La Reina reserves the right to refuse any piercing if we believe it is not in the client's best interest or could negatively affect their safety, or well-being. For age-specific eligibility, please see the Minor Piercing Requirements page.
Clients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and provide documentation verifying both the minor's identity and their relationship to the accompanying adult. A birth certificate is required, along with a photo ID for the minor, such as a passport, state-issued ID or school issued photo ID. Names on all documentation must correspond. We are unable to preform a piercing if the required documentation cannot be provided.
Never. Every piercing is performed using sterile, single-use needles and implant-grade jewelry.
We recommend eating a meal and staying well hydrated before your appointment. Arriving on an empty stomach may increase the chance of feeling lightheaded during or after your piercing.
Please do not arrive under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs. If you appear to be impaired, your appointment will be canceled and rescheduled for your safety.
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed appointments, will result in forfeiture of your appointment deposit.
We only pierce with ASTM F-136 implant-grade titanium, medical-grade niobium, or 14k and 18k gold jewelry. All jewelry features a mirror-finish polish and is backed by a lifetime guarantee against manufacturer defects.
Yes. Professional jewelry insertion, removal and downsizing services are available to minimize irritation and protect your piercing.
For the safety of our clients, we do not use outside jewelry for new piercings. For healed piercings, outside jewelry must be verified for quality and manufacturer. We only install jewelry that meets professional industry standards and can be verified through an Association of Professional Piercers (APP) recognized manufacturer or distributor. If we cannot verify the jewelry, we will respectfully decline to install it.
For the health and safety of our clients, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on jewelry once it has been fitted or has left our studio. Once jewelry leaves our controlled environment, we can no longer verify how it has been handled or stored. This policy helps reduce the risk of contamination, infection, and other complications. Thank you for your understanding.
For your safety and the health of your baby, we do not perform new piercings during pregnancy. If you are breastfeeding, we recommend waiting until you have finished breastfeeding and allowing approximately four to six months before receiving a new piercing.
